Although not one of our peaks in this year's series, can you figure out what peak this is??

Originally, this idea started as a series of seven hikes during the Fall semester with Utah State University's Outdoor Adventure Leadership major. Each fall, students would ask for more awesome hikes to do around our awesome mountain town. The Northern Utah Trail Series (NUTS) was developed as a set of 21 hikes across three categories, designed to get you and your crew outside this summer and a bit into the fall.

You'll explore our mountain home through 3 categories of hikes:

  • Valley Explorers - Seven hikes that Mom, Dad, Granny, Grandpa, and kids can explore around Cache Valley

  • Canyon Adventurer - Seven hikes that range from beginner to more intermediate. These will begin to test your ability in such a fun way. 

  • Peak Bagger - Seven intermediate to strenuous hikes so you can "bag" some of Cache Valley's most famous summits.

Whether you go solo, with a hot date, or with family and friends, you will find a challenge to suit your level! The question is:

How it Works

  1. Sign up, silly! ​

    • Join your trail challenge

    • Create your account (free)

    • Commit to the challenge (small fee, BIG adventure)

  2. Get Your Kit

    • Unlock your trail guide, tracker, and community access​

  3. Hit the Trails 

    • Explore our valley, canyons, and peaks!

    • Officially starting May 1st, 2026 (Early testers would be greatly appreciated)​

  4. Earn Recognition

    • Climb the ranks and earn your place as a 2026 NUTTY Trail Master. ​

Participation fees support the Trail Challenge, OALUT scholarships, and the continued growth of OALUT programs, access, and opportunities.
